Council Minutes of 4/18/95 <br />:~~ <br />~- <br />Megan Smith, Forest Elementary Girl Scout Troop 1319, spoke about how children can <br />help to protect the environment. <br />Marybeth Inman, Forest Elementary Girl Scout Troop 1319, spoke about the effect of <br />pollution on the earth. <br />Kaitlin Leahy, Forest Elementary Girl Scout Troop 1319, spoke about the effect of <br />pollution on wildlife. <br />Matt introduced City Forester Dave Wendell. Mr. Wendell explained that this was the <br />tenth year that North Olmsted has been designated as a Tree City. This award recognizes <br />cities for outstanding urban forestry practices. The city has a brush clipping program, and <br />residents can receive free delivery in any amount. Also, leaf humus is offered free of <br />charge to residents. <br />Mayor Boyle presented each of the students and Scout Leaders Pam Bolda and Janice <br />Zweigart with certificates of appreciation for their participation in the Earth/Arbor Day <br />celebration. <br />The meeting continued with a special Legislation section: <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 95-51 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay on behalf <br />of the Mayor and the entire Council. A resolution commending the achievement by <br />Matthew Hartman of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. Mr. McKay moved for <br />suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review; second by Mr. <br />Musial; motion passed unanimously. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />Musial; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 95-51 adopted. Matthew came <br />forward and received the congratulations of Council and the Administration. <br />Resolution No. 95-52 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay on behalf <br />of the Mayor and the entire Council. A resolution commending the achievement by <br />Ronald Bokan of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. Mr. McKay moved for <br />suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review; second by Mr. <br />Miller; motion passed unanimously. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />Miller; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 95-52 adopted. Ronald came <br />forward and received the congratulations of Council and the Administration. <br />Resohrtion No. 95-53 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. Nashar on behalf <br />of the Mayor and the entire Council. A resolution commending the achievement by <br />Robert Sharp of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. Mr. Nashar moved for <br />suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Mr. Nashar moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 95-53 adopted.
