MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 21,1995 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, McKay, Miller, <br />Musial, Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Lind <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the special Council meeting of March 1, 1995 were approved as written. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of March 7, 1995 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordmance No. 95-29 had been amended and placed <br />back on second reading and Ordinance No. 95-30 and Resolution Nos. 95-35 and 95-36 <br />would be passed under suspension of the rules. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) On Thursday, March 16, the Mayor and Mr. John Samson of Market. al <br />presented the city's economic development marketing plan to members of the Chamber of <br />Commerce, local businesses and residents. Hopefully, this economic development <br />program will attract new businesses to the city, which will help defray taxes from residents <br />and provide for better city services. The economic development program has akeady <br />successfully attracted such businesses as Moen, MAC Systems and Nutron Nameplate. <br />The next presentation will be held at Springvale Country Club on Thursday, Apri16. <br />2) Administrative Assistant Nancy Wlodarski convened the tax incentive review board on <br />March 8, and the progress of Moen, MAC Systems and Nutron Nameplate was discussed. <br />Based on the growth of these businesses, which exceeds projections, it was decided to <br />continue the benefit packages. <br />3) Through the COPS program, the city will receive $150,000 over athree-year period to <br />defray the cost of hiring two police o$icers. <br />4) The Mayor is submitting Mr. Terry Brennan for consideration as a Planning <br />Commission member. The Architectural Review Board has a vacancy which must be filled <br />by an architect. Anyone having a suggestion should contact the Mayor. <br />_ ..,_, ., .. ~,,. t_ ~, . <br />
