MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 7,1995 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, McKay, Musial, <br />Nashar, Saringer. <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Lmd <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8:19 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Fledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of February 7, 1995 were approved as written <br />Council President Boehmer made the following announcements: Ordinance 95-3 will be <br />passed under suspension of the rules; a pubfic hearing regarding Ordinance 95-1 will be <br />held at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 1995. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) During recent discussions on annexation, comments were made that the <br />anti-annexation bill before the State Legislature, House Bill 30, was really dead and being <br />used as a scare tactic. However, now that the new legislative session has begun, the anti- <br />annexation bill has been resurrected as House Bill 36. The Ohio Municipal League states <br />that it is a "New version of old House Bill 30 and still contains many of the problems we <br />had with House Bill 30." <br />2) The County Engineer has notified the city that there will be no funding available for the <br />mounding on the Stearns Road extension. Council will need to make the decision whether <br />or not to fund the entire cost of the mounding. However, the Mayor cautioned that there <br />should also be some type of corresponding expenditure to protect the homes on Steams <br />Road south of Lorain Road. <br />3) Council Members have received a letter from Rocky River resident Fred Sokol <br />concerning a different site for the WEB jail. The WEB communities have been advised by <br />the State that there will not be an extension of the grant, so it will not be possible to move <br />the site of the jail and the issue is dead for the present. <br />4) North Olmsted Police Chief Sefcek and Bay Village Police Chief Biscotti have advised <br />the WEB communities of a problem with the C.RI.S. program.
