Council Minutes of 12/17/96 <br />Resolution No. 96-195 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady on <br />behalf of Mayor Boyle and the entire Council. A resolution in opposition of the rate <br />reduction plan as filed by Centerior Energy with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. <br />Resolution No. 96-196 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Boyle on <br />behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution in opposition to the merger of <br />Centerior Energy Corporation and Ohio Edison under a new holding company called <br />FirstEnergy as it is currently proposed. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Mr. McKay moved to adjourn into executive session for the purpose of discussing the <br />unfair labor practice that was filed against the firefighters' union; second by Mr. Nashar; <br />motion passed unanimously. Council adjourned into executive session at 9:06 p.m. <br />Council reconvened at 9:34 p.m. and continued with Miscellaneous Business. <br />Mr. Lind scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on Monday, December 23, to <br />discuss Ordinance 96-188, 96-192 and 96-193. The Finance Director and Service <br />Director are asked to attend. <br />Mr. O'Grady scheduled an Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long-Range <br />Planning Committee meeting for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 23, to discuss <br />Ordinances 96-195 and 96-196. Mayor Boyle is asked to attend. <br />A special Council meeting will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday, December 23, to pass <br />Ordinances 96-188, 96-193 and 96-194. <br />Mr. Nashar scheduled a Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee meeting for <br />Monday, December 23, immediately following the Finance Committee meeting to discuss <br />Ordinance 96-194. The Safety Director is asked to attend. <br />Mr. McKay scheduled a Streets & Drainage/Environmental Control Committee meeting <br />for Monday, January 6, at 7 p.m. to discuss Ordinances 96-187, 96-189 and 96-191. <br />Service Director Bohlmann is asked to attend. <br />With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before <br />Council, President Boehmer adjourned the meeting at 9:45 p.m. <br />c <br />zt~ ' <br />"Barbara L.
