Council Minutes of 11/6/96 <br />~, Resolution No. 96-173 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Boyle on <br />,, behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into <br />a contract with the Cuyahoga County General Health District for the year 1997, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 96-174 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay on <br />behalf of himself, the entire Council and the Mayor. A resolution expressing opposition to <br />Ohio Senate Bill 118 which prohibits local governments from adopting building <br />regulations contrary to those adopted by the Ohio Board of Building Standards, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 96-176 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Boyle on <br />behalf of himself and the entire Council. An ordinance adopting an investment policy for <br />the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 96-175 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Boyle. An <br />ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City <br />of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1997, and declaring an emergency. <br />Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee <br />review; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for <br />adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-175 <br />adopted. <br />Resolution No. 96-177 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay on <br />behalf of Mr. Lind. A resolution accepting the amounts and rates as determined by the <br />Budget Commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the <br />County Auditor. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Mrs. Saringer read two letters into the record regarding Clague Road that had been <br />written by residents in the Clague Road area: <br />"Let us take this opportunity to express our thoughts regarding the manner in which you <br />came to a decision on the Clague Road reconstruction. We must compliment your careful <br />study of the details, even to the point of physically viewing the effected areas to see first <br />hand what type of impact the project would have on the area and residents. To come to a <br />decision that would benefit North Olmsted and maintain the residential environment and <br />not let federal dollars dictate your actions is a credit to the North Olmsted Council. We <br />also feel the residents had the opportunity to voice their opinions pro and con and Council <br />listened, reviewed and took the necessary time to study the issues before acting. Thank <br />you all. Sincerely, Bob and Rose Marie Frindt." <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />
