;;~~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 17, 1996 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Limpert, McKay, Musial, <br />Nashar, Saringer <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Members Lind and O'Grady <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. McKay moved to approve the minutes of the September 3, 1996 Council meeting; <br />second by Mrs. Saringer; motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. McKay moved to approve the minutes of the September 12, 1996 special Council <br />meeting; second by Mr. Musial; motion passed unanimously. <br />President Boehmer announced that ordinance No. 96-163 would be passed under <br />suspension of the rules. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) Hurricane Fran caused a very heavy rainfall in the Cleveland area; North <br />Olmsted had a 24 hour total of approximately 7 inches of rain. The good news is that the <br />city received only 10 calls from residents regarding flooding. Five of the calls were sump <br />pump problems and not related with sanitary or storm backup. The other five calls are <br />being investigated. This storm was a good test of all the work, and the money spent, to <br />abate flooding in our city. <br />2) This past Tuesday a meeting was held with Fairview Park regarding the sewer <br />agreement. The Law Director will give a detailed report on this issue. <br />3) Many cities in Cuyahoga County, including North Olmsted, have recently undertaken <br />the task of developing master plans to assist in the financial stability and the livability of <br />their communities. As the representative of the western suburbs to the Cuyahoga County <br />Planning Commission, the Mayor has introduced the concept of cooperation with other <br />surrounding counties to develop a master plan for this region. It is his hoped that the <br />surrounding counties and communities can work together to help our current businesses to <br /> <br />
