Council Minutes of 5/7/96
,, Police Department does monitor Porter Road and he recently saw someone getting a
1,. ticket there. He will discuss this problem with the Safety Director. Mr. Nashar
commented that he had been on Porter Road about 11 o'clock today and did see a police
car set up with radar. On another issue, Mr. Arjf said he was concerned with the storm
sewers on Porter Road. There is a storm sewer near his property, but the line that
connects it to the main line is only 6 inches when it should be 15 inches. At least twice a
year his garage floods with several inches of water. He also
offered his driveway for use by the Police Department to monitor speeding on the road.
On the issue of traffic signalization, Mr. Strnad said that Council had shelved the plan two
and a half years ago. Mayor Boyle said that was absolutely not true; in fact, the traffic
signalization project was currently underway. Indeed, he and Mr. Bohlmann had
discussed it earlier in the meeting.
LEGISLATION
Ordmance No. 96-52 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its second reading. An
ordinance authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to enter into
an agreement with Chagrin Valley Engineering, Ltd. to provide engineering services
pertaining to drainage improvements for the Allendale-Carey area, and declaring an
emergency.
Resolution No. 96-53 introduced by Mr. Limpert on behalf of Mr. Lmd was given its
second reading. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for
bids for 8,000 tons of salt and authorizing the Mayor to contract for same.
Ordinance No. 96-56 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its second reading. An
ordinance establishing rates of compensation for various administration and legislative
personnel and declaring an emergency as amended.
Resolution No. 96-58 introduced by Mr. Nashar was given its second reading. A
resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the
improvements to the Broxbourne Lift Station and Force Main as detailed in the
specifications on file and authorizing the Mayor to contract for the same, and declaring an
emergency.
Ordinance No. 96-62 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. Lind. An
ordinance authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise forbids for the purchase
of three (3), six passenger, four door sedan automobiles to be used by the Mayor, Safety
Director and Service Director.
.,.
8
