Council Minutes of 12/16/97
..
Trudy Schooley, 30660 Bradley Road, asked if a rezoning would affect the businesses that
are already there. Mayor Boyle again explained that the business would not be able to
expand their physical structure without a variance. Law Director Gareau said, if you
adopt a comprehensive plan for a neighborhood, it would be rather difficult to have a
consistent plan when you have continuing businesses and then the rest of the area is
residential. This issue should follow the process and be discussed in Planning Commission
and by City Council because there are many, many implications relative to changing that
zoning to single family because it is going to adversely impact upon all of the businesses
that are currently there.
LEGISLATION
Ordinance No. 97-104 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading.
