MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 21, 1997 <br />Present: Council President Pro Tem Saringer, Council Members Limpert, Lind, <br />McKay, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of Council Seman <br />Absent: Council President Boehmer, Council Member Musial <br />Council President Pro Tem Saringer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of October 7, 1997 were approved as written. <br />Mrs. Saringer made the following announcements: 1) Resolution Nos. 97-90, 97-9? and <br />Ordinance No. 97-94 would be passed under suspension of the rules; 2) The next Council <br />meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 5, because of the General Election on <br />November 4. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Boyle: 1) Students and teachers from the Goethe Gymnasium in Dusseldorf, <br />Germany were welcomed and presented with a proclamation declaring them honorary <br />citizens of North Olmsted for this visit and every future visit made to our city. The <br />proclamation was accepted with thanks and appreciation by the teachers. <br />2) The S.I.T.E.S. program at the senior high school held the "Senior Fair" today at <br />Springvale. This gathering of North Olmsted High School seniors and senior citizens from <br />our community is an annual event. As in the past, this year's program was very successful <br />and enjoyed by all. <br />Finance Director Burns: 1) We have received the tax exemption status for the portion of <br />the golf course in North Olmsted and will now be able to ask for refunds of the 1995 and <br />1996 taxes. In future years, the property will be tax exempt. <br />2) The 1996 audit was received on October 14. The audit is unqualified and there are no <br />citations in any of the compliance letters. <br />
