MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED OCTOBER 21, 1997 Present: Council President Pro Tem Saringer, Council Members Limpert, Lind, McKay, Nashar, O'Grady Also Present: Mayor Boyle, Finance Director Burns, Clerk of Council Seman Absent: Council President Boehmer, Council Member Musial Council President Pro Tem Saringer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The minutes of the Council meeting of October 7, 1997 were approved as written. Mrs. Saringer made the following announcements: 1) Resolution Nos. 97-90, 97-9? and Ordinance No. 97-94 would be passed under suspension of the rules; 2) The next Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 5, because of the General Election on November 4. REPORTS Mayor Boyle: 1) Students and teachers from the Goethe Gymnasium in Dusseldorf, Germany were welcomed and presented with a proclamation declaring them honorary citizens of North Olmsted for this visit and every future visit made to our city. The proclamation was accepted with thanks and appreciation by the teachers. 2) The S.I.T.E.S. program at the senior high school held the "Senior Fair" today at Springvale. This gathering of North Olmsted High School seniors and senior citizens from our community is an annual event. As in the past, this year's program was very successful and enjoyed by all. Finance Director Burns: 1) We have received the tax exemption status for the portion of the golf course in North Olmsted and will now be able to ask for refunds of the 1995 and 1996 taxes. In future years, the property will be tax exempt. 2) The 1996 audit was received on October 14. The audit is unqualified and there are no citations in any of the compliance letters.
