Council Minutes of S/5/97
there is a agreement with the city. This our form of an ageement. Mr. McKay moved for
adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 97-68
adopted.
Resolution No. 97-69 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Boyle on
behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution acknowledging the receipt of notice
from the Board of Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, establishing a public
hearing upon a petition for annexation from Christ the King Church of property located in
Olmsted Township, and adopting a statement of the services which the City of North
Olmsted will provide to the territory upon annexation, and declaring an emergency.
MISCELLANEOUS BUS
Mrs. Saringer reported on the poor condition of the property behind the Goodwill Store
located at the corner of Lorain and Claque Roads. This has been an on-going problem for
the neighboring residents for many years. People drop off goods when the store is not
open, and the property behind the store is full of junk and trash. Mrs. Saringer circulated
pictures of the property that she had taken on a recent Sunday afternoon. She stated that
the situation was even worse the following week. Recently, with Safety Director Kasler's
help, they were able to have signs posted on the store asking people not to leave goods
when the store is closed. However, the signs are being ignored. Mrs. Saringer will ask
for legislation and hopes to work with the Law Director to make changes to the city
Business Regulation Code to eliminate this problem. She would like to prohibit the
parking of semi-trailer trucks on the property. Mrs. Saringer hopes that a solution can be
found to eliminate this terrible, detrimental problem.
Mr. O'Grady scheduled an Intro-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long-Range
Planning Committee meeting for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, to discuss Ordinance
No. 97-52. Mayor Boyle and Administrative Assistant Hensal are asked to attend.
Mrs. Saringer scheduled a Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee meeting for
7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12. Safety Director Kasler and Recreation Commissioner
Dolansky are asked to attend.
Mr. Nashar scheduled a Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee meeting for 8 p.m.
on Tuesday, August 12. The Law Director, Safety Director, Officer Wolfe and Mr. Lou
Damiani are asked to attend.
Mr. McKay commented to Mayor Boyle that he had received a call from Mr. Theus, 5769
Fitch Road, who feels the bus traffic on Fitch Road traveling to the South Park Mall is too
high. He said that he sees buses with only one passenger. Mayor Boyle replied that he
had received complaints from Mrs. Theus, .and she had asked that all buses be removed
from Fitch Road because she doesn't want them passing her house. Mrs. Theus has also
written to Mr. Tuber of the RTA. Mayor Boyle explained that Fitch Road is the beginning
of the route, and it is possible that Mr. Theus saw only one passenger.
