Although the
meetings are held in different wards, the meetings are not exclusive to the ward. Everyone
is invited to attend.
2) In 1990, he ordered a guardrail to be constructed on Columbia Road at the bend near
the Westlake border. Recently, the Ohio Department of Transportation removed it
without first informing the city. Also, they have not returned the guardrail to the city.
When questioned, ODOT said it could not be there because it was a hazard itself. The
city does not believe this is true; we think it has served as a benefit to our residents and the
area was safer because it was there. Before the guardrail was there, we received
complaints of speeders in the area and of vehicles going across treelawns. Law Director
Gareau said that he had advised the Service Director to put the guardrail back up.
