Council Minutes of 5/7/97
~, Mr. Limpert commented he felt the BZD Committee had taken the right approach by
`=~.;~ trying to get the water line in now rather than later. Under the circumstances, with no
guidance from the administration, he felt that the committee did a fine job of trying to
mediate between the residents and Hot Stove. Mayor Boyle commented that the
administration was not building the field and would not maintain it. Mr. Musial
commented that he believed the school board should have been invited before the Planning
Commission when the water line was discussed. To his recollection, the BZD Committee
did not ask for a particular size of water line--it was simply adecision-making process that
a water line should be there. The reason the committee provided for a contingent use for
one year was to make sure that the proper barriers of trees and shrubs would be installed
to protect the residents from blowing sand.
LEGISLATION
Resolution No. 97-26 introduced by Mr. Musial on behalf of Mr. McKay, Mr. Lind and
himself was given its third reading. A resolution calling upon the Senate and House of
Representatives of the United States of America to support U. S. Rep. Steven C.
LaTourette's legislation to repeal the Medicaid criminal penalties provision in the recently
enacted Kennedy-Kassebaum Health Care Law. Mr. Musial moved for adoption; second
by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 97-26 adopted.
Ordinance No. 97-28 introduced by Mr. Limpert was given its second reading. An
ordinance amending the traffic control file of the City of North Olmsted to provide for the
installation of a traffic signal system at the intersection of Dover Center Road and Mill
Road and declaring an emergency.
Ordinance No. 97-29 introduced by Mr. Limpert was given its second reading. An
ordinance amending the traffic control file of the City of North Olmsted to provide for the
installation of a traffic signal system at the intersection of Porter Road and Mill Road and
declaring an emergency.
Ordinance No. 97-33 introduced by Mr. McKay on behalf of Mayor Boyle was given its
second reading. An ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to
enter into an agreement with Adache-Ciuni-Lynn Associates, Inc., to provide engineering
services for the design of drainage improvements for the Forest Ridge subdivision and
Lansing Drive storm relief sewer, and declaring an emergency. *(Please see note at the
end of this section.)
Ordinance No. 97-34 introduced by Mr. McKay on behalf of Mayor Boyle was given its
second reading. An ordinance to establish within the Special Revenue Fund Group a
"Hote1/Motel Tax Fund" of the City of North Olmsted for receipt of hoteUmotel tax
monies and related expenditures for safety equipment, and declaring an emergency.
7
