Council Minutes of 12/1/98 Ordinance No. 98-141 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An ,-iii. ,,~, ordinance amending Ordinance 97-49 so as to combine and establish various positions, and to establish pay ranges and fringe benefits for employees at North Olmsted's Golf Course, and declaring an emergency. Ordinance No. 98-142 introduced by Mr. O'Grady as given its second reading. An ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1998. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 98-142 adopted. Ordinance No. 98-144 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An ordinance amending Section 11 of Ordinance No. 98-32, entitled "An Ordinance Establishing Rates of Compensation for Various Administrative and Legislative Personnel and Declaring an Emergency," so as to provide an increase in the upper salary range for the position of Assistant Fire Chief and to further provide for this change to be retroactive to January 1, 1998, and declaring an emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. The motion was seconded by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 98-144 adopted. Resolution No. 98-145 was introduced by Mayor Musial on behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution of the City of North Olmsted expressing its strong opposition to passage of House Bill 803 currently pending before the Ohio Legislature, and declaring an emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review; second by Mr. Limpert. Roll call: O'Grady, yes; Limpert, yes; Miller, yes with comment that we should comply with the Law Director's suggestion and have someone testify before the Legislature about this matter. Roll call continued: Kasler, yes; Gareau, yes; McKay, yes; Nashar, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Joe Bouman, 23950 Gessner Road, asked what House Bill 803 was. Mayor Musial explained HB 803 would take away home rule rights of communities dealing with income tax revenues. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 98-145 adopted. Resolution No. 98-146 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady. A resolution directing the Auditor of Cuyahoga County to pay to the City of North Olmsted, Ohio, during the year 1999, all money due and owing said city from any collection source. Ordinance No. 98-147 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady on behalf of Mayor Musial.
