Council Minutes of 12/1/98 <br />Ordinance No. 98-141 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />,-iii. <br />,,~, ordinance amending Ordinance 97-49 so as to combine and establish various positions, <br />and to establish pay ranges and fringe benefits for employees at North Olmsted's Golf <br />Course, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 98-142 introduced by Mr. O'Grady as given its second reading. An <br />ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1998. Mr. <br />O'Grady moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 98-142 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 98-144 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />ordinance amending Section 11 of Ordinance No. 98-32, entitled "An Ordinance <br />Establishing Rates of Compensation for Various Administrative and Legislative <br />Personnel and Declaring an Emergency," so as to provide an increase in the upper salary <br />range for the position of Assistant Fire Chief and to further provide for this change to be <br />retroactive to January 1, 1998, and declaring an emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for <br />suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. The motion was <br />seconded by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for <br />adoption; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 98-144 <br />adopted. <br />Resolution No. 98-145 was introduced by Mayor Musial on behalf of himself and the <br />entire Council. A resolution of the City of North Olmsted expressing its strong <br />opposition to passage of House Bill 803 currently pending before the Ohio Legislature, <br />and declaring an emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rules requiring <br />three readings and committee review; second by Mr. Limpert. Roll call: O'Grady, yes; <br />Limpert, yes; Miller, yes with comment that we should comply with the Law Director's <br />suggestion and have someone testify before the Legislature about this matter. Roll call <br />continued: Kasler, yes; Gareau, yes; McKay, yes; Nashar, yes. The motion passed <br />unanimously. Joe Bouman, 23950 Gessner Road, asked what House Bill 803 was. <br />Mayor Musial explained HB 803 would take away home rule rights of communities <br />dealing with income tax revenues. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 98-145 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 98-146 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady. A <br />resolution directing the Auditor of Cuyahoga County to pay to the City of North Olmsted, <br />Ohio, during the year 1999, all money due and owing said city from any collection <br />source. <br />Ordinance No. 98-147 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady on <br />behalf of Mayor Musial.
