MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />.< . OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />;,;~. <br />SEPTEMBER 15, 1998 <br />Present: Council President Saringer Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mrs. Kasler asked that the minutes of the Council meeting of September 1, 1998 be <br />corrected on page 11 changing the date of the vote approving the Crocker-Stearns <br />extension to 1988. The minutes were approved as corrected. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The slab contract has been sent to the contractor for execution as have <br />the contracts for north Barton Road and Lansing Drive. <br />2) The federal government is gearing up for Census 2000, and Mary Creadon from the <br />Mayor's office will be the coordinator for the city. Maps received from the federal <br />government have been updated with the help of City Engineer Deichmann. The updated <br />address list will be provided to the government shortly. The actual "head count" in North <br />Olmsted will be done by 200 volunteers over a three month period. <br />3) The Issue 2 application is being prepared and the information will be presented to <br />Council at the Finance Committee meeting on September 24. The three projects which <br />will be applied for are' a five-lane intersection at Clague Road, north and south of Lorain <br />Road; turning lanes at Fitch Road and Burns Road and resurfacing of Butternut Ridge <br />Road; turning lanes at the intersection of Barton and Bradley roads. <br />4) A Ward I Town Hall meeting will be held at the Community Cabin on September 23. <br />So far, we have received approximately 340 survey responses. The initial determination <br />review indicates concern about why the Crocker-Stearns extension is taking so long, <br />backyard flooding and concerns regarding the Recreation Center. The Ward III Town <br />Hall meeting will be held at Spruce elementary school on October 22, and the Ward II <br />meeting will be held at Maple school on November 18. <br /> <br />
