MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 2, 1998 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Council President Saringer made the following announcements: Ordinance 98-29 will be <br />removed from the agenda; Ordinance Nos. 98-58, 98-59 and 98-60 will be passed under <br />suspension of the rules. <br />Regarding the Mayor's report in the minutes of the meeting of May 6, 1998, Mrs. <br />Saringer indicated that she had attended the All Nations Festival. The minutes of the <br />Council meeting of May 6, 1998 were approved as corrected. The minutes of the special <br />Council meeting of May 12, 1998 were approved as written. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The Recreation Center is hosting a family picnic this Sunday beginning <br />at 1 p.m. For those who do not bring a picnic lunch, there will be food and beverages <br />available. <br />2) The Clague Park reopening will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12. <br />3) Proclamations were presented: <br />• St. Richard's Church has provided volunteers and community assistance to residents in <br />need through the Department of Human Resources and Director Don Copeland. <br />Recently, St. Richard, St. Clarence and St. Brendan churches provided volunteers for <br />a Habitat for Humanity project called "Three for Homes." At the conclusion of this <br />project, several St. Richard volunteers wished to continue their work with North <br />Olmsted community projects. Through coordination by Don Copeland, the group <br />provided volunteers for the North Olmsted Community Volunteer Services Day on <br />Saturday, May 9. Five projects were completed that day. Their work included the <br />removal of deteriorated fences, general clean-up of exteriors and landscaping.
