Council Minutes of 5/6/98 <br />505.02 properly covers all animals and pets. It was determined that the ordinance in <br />~,. question, Ordinance 98-35, was acceptable as written but that an additional ordinance was <br />needed to properly word Chapter 505 of the General Offenses Code. Therefore, <br />Ordinance 98-55 will be introduced tonight to correct Chapter 505. The committee <br />unanimously recommended approval of Ordinance 98-35. <br />c. Ordinance 98-40 deals with the rehabilitation of the roof over the ice skating rink. The <br />committee unanimously recommended approval and recommended suspension of the rule <br />requiring three readings. <br />d. Ordinance 98-41 deals with the rehabilitation of the HVAC, which is the heating, <br />ventilation and air conditioning system at the ice rink. This ordinance is tied to Ordinance <br />98-40. The committee unanimously recommended approval and suspension of the rule <br />requiring three readings. <br />e. Ordinance 98-42 authorizes the Director of Service to advertise for bids for the <br />replacement of a plow truck. This was unanimously recommended for approval by the <br />committee. <br />f. Ordinance 98-43 deals with the addition of the city's Police Station and was <br />unanimously recommended for approval. The principal on the note will be paid down at a <br />rate of $40,000 in the first year and $20,000 per year thereafter. <br />g. Ordinance 98-44 relates to the Allendale/Carey storm sewers and was unanimously <br />recommended for approval by the committee. <br />h. Ordinance 98-45 deals with street repair and the installation of street lights in the city <br />and was unanimously recommended for approval. <br />i. Ordinance 98-46 involves the improvement of the city's recreation facilities and the <br />purchase of additional land to be used for recreation. The committee unanimously <br />recommended approval subject to the removal of funds slated for the land acquisition. It <br />was later determined that it was best to table this ordinance for the improvements to the <br />recreation facilities. This ordinance will be tabled this evening, and replacement Ordinance <br />98-56 will be introduced. <br />j. Ordinance 98-47 relates to the improvements to the city's sanitary and storm sewer <br />systems and was unanimously recommended for approval. <br />k. Ordinance 98-48 deals with the rehabilitation of the old Town Hall and the removal of <br />underground fuel tanks on the site. Discussion revolved around whether the two projects <br />were similar enough to be listed under the same ordinance. Based upon the <br />recommendation of bond counsel, that the two projects were appropriate together due to <br />the location on the same property and that one large note was better and less costly than <br />two smaller ones and with the statement of the Finance Director that two projects would <br />have separate accounting, the committee recommended approval by a two to one vote. <br />1. Ordinance 98-49 deals with the roof at North Olmsted Fire Station No. 2, and was <br />unanimously recommended to be tabled this evening as it was decided to pay cash for the <br />work. <br />m. Ordinance 98-50 relates to community reinvestment area tax exemptions. The <br />committee will defer a recommendation on this ordinance pending additional information <br />from the administration.
