MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />;,~.;: <br />APRIL 21, 1998 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of Apri17, 1998 were approved as written. <br />President Saringer reported that a public hearing had been held at 7 p.m. with regard to <br />Ordinance No. 98-20. Attorney Timothy Grendell and Hennie Homes representative <br />James Elliott were in attendance to discuss the Cinnamon Woods rezoning. Hennie <br />Homes recently acquired 18 acres of property that was annexed to the city on which they <br />plan to build 86 units. One item of discussion concerned rubbish pick-up. It was <br />explained to Mr. Grendell that the city does not pick up rubbish on private streets. <br />Residents Mrs. Farrell and Mr. Strachan expressed concerns about trees. The public <br />hearing was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. <br />Mrs. Saringer thanked Mr. Doug Hogan, representative from CEI, who presented <br />Dogwood trees to members of Council and the administration in celebration of Arbor <br />Day. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The Former Prisoner of War recognition day ceremony was held at <br />Springvale on Thursday, April 9. His thanks to Administrative Assistant Mary Creadon <br />for helping make the event successful. <br />2) Springvale held a successful Easter buffet and plans are in the works to have a buffet <br />for Mother's Day. <br />3) Under the guidance of Don Copeland, Marlene Telegdy and Greg Birney, the city and <br />the school district hosted the fourth annual senior health care fair at the Community Cabin <br />on April 15. He had the privilege of presenting proclamations and certificates of <br />appreciation recognizing individuals involved in the program. <br />~,. <br />
