Council Minutes of 4/7/98 <br />have agreed to discuss the issue of court carryovers and deficits at a meeting in the near <br />.,,~ future. <br />5) A notice was received from the U. S. Department of Justice requesting a corrective <br />action plan which should include a timetable to address the weaknesses noted in the 1996 <br />audit. <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: 1) The <br />committee met this evening to discuss a liquor transfer for Gillepsie's Pub, 24775 Lorain <br />Road to JCB Corporation at the same address. The hours of operation will be the same as <br />the previous owner. This is a 1:30 a.m. permit for beer, wine and liquor. The committee <br />had no objections to the transfer. Mr. Nashar moved that Council have no objection to <br />the liquor transfer; the motion was seconded by Mr. Gareau and unanimously passed. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee: 1) The committee met on April 1 to discuss Resolution <br />98-26, a resolution objecting to H. B. 386 which would restrict local authorities from <br />imposing certain labor requirements. The committee felt that this is a home rule issue in <br />which the State should not interfere. The committee recommended approval of the <br />resolution. <br />2) The committee met jointly with the Finance Committee and Mr. O'Grady will make <br />that report. <br />3) The committee interviewed Mr. William Kremzar for an appointment to the Board of <br />Zoning Appeals. Mr. Kremzar will fill the unexpired term of William Purper which ends <br />on December 31, 2000. Mr. Limpert moved to approve the appointment of Mr. Kremzar <br />to the Board of Zoning Appeals; the motion was seconded by Mr. Gareau and <br />unanimously approved. <br />Mr. O'Grady, who is an executive board member of the Greater Cleveland Suburban <br />Council, reported that the April forum will deal with managing capital improvements. The <br />meeting will be held at the Mayfield Country Club at 7 p.m. on April 23. Unfortunately, <br />that is the same night as the Community Council's Citizen of the Year banquet so the <br />timing is not convenient for North Olmsted officials to attend. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the Finance Committee: 1) The committee met on <br />March 21. Present were committee members O'Grady, Limpert and Kasler; Council <br />Members Nashar and McKay; Mayor Musial; Directors Bohlmann, Jenkins and Copfer. <br />Other attendees included Dennis Long and Bob Nichols of the Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant and North Olmsted resident Joe Bouman. The meeting was called to order at <br />8 a.m. on Saturday morning. The committee discussed the appropriations, Ordinance <br />No. 98-16. The appropriations were discussed focusing on a review of the General Fund <br />and the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
