MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 3, 1998 <br />Present: Council President Pro Tem Limpert, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman <br />Absent: Council President Saringer <br />Council President Pro Tem Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. McKay moved to approve the minutes of the Council meeting of January 20, 1998 as <br />written; second by Mr. Nashar; motion unanimously approved. <br />President Pro Tem Limpert announced that a public hearing would be held regarding <br />Ordinance No. 97-121 on Tuesday, February 17, at 7:15 p.m. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) Springvale will hold a special charity dance on Sunday, February 8, <br />from 2 to 4 p.m. featuring the band Let's Dance. Admission is free; however, donations <br />will be accepted for the benefit of the Human Resources Community Fund. This fund <br />assists North Olmsted residents in times of financial distress or other crises. <br />2) On February 2, he had the pleasure of swearing in George Ruple as the Chief of Police <br />and Wayne Wozniak as the Operations Captain. <br />3) Personnel & Administrative Director Popa has facilitated several programs: a. She has <br />arranged for representatives of Medical Mutual to meet with employees to explain the <br />city's medical plan. b. Members of the administration recently held a breakfast meeting <br />with union leaders to provide an opportunity for everyone to get to know one another and <br />establish an avenue of communication. c. She is collecting departmental organization <br />charts and job descriptions. d. She has been involved with risk assessment interviews <br />with various department heads and division chiefs. e. Several meetings have been held <br />with the health care committee to discuss the forthcoming new health care plan. <br />4) The city has received an Issue 2 grant for $1.8 million for Phase B reconstruction of <br />Brookpark Road. The previous grant for Phase A was $1.026 million. <br />
