Council Minutes of 2/3/98 <br />b. Ordinance 97-125, which authorizes the purchase of real property on Bradley Road for <br />~.. <br />recreational purposes. The administration is currently awaiting an appraisal of the lan . <br />Representatives of NOSO and the Hot Stove organization spoke in favor of the <br />acquisition of this property and offered their support. Council and the administration still <br />have questions with regard to the property. Namely, funding sources, the current value of <br />the property and the layout of the proposed sports facility. Council will tour this site on <br />Saturday. A decision will not be made until all concerns are addressed. <br />c. Resolution 98-1, which authorizes the Service Director to advertise for bids for a <br />contractor to provide leaf pick-up services for the city. The committee voted to <br />recommend approval. <br />2) The Finance Committee met again on February 3. In attendance were all Council <br />members and Finance Director Copfer. The committee discussed Ordinance Nos. 97-121 <br />and 97-123. Both ordinances deal with the city retaining the services of the law firm of <br />Walter &Haverfield as a consultant regarding telecommunication issues. Council had <br />previously voiced their support of this issue, but there were questions that needed to be <br />ironed out by the Law Director. The Law Director has resolved these issues and signaled <br />his support for the proposal. The Finance Committee recommended approval of <br />Ordinance 97-121 and tabling of Ordinance 97-102. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane. As a resident of the Butternut Ridge area, he <br />expressed his deep appreciation to Council and the administration for the long-awaited <br />bike path and repaving of Cedar Point hill. He believes that such little things as this <br />enhance the quality of life in the community. Mr. Lambert recognized Mr. Bohlmann who <br />worked diligently for the past several years on this project. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 97-102 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to enter into an agreement <br />with Walter &Haverfield to provide telecommunications consulting services with respect <br />to wireless communications systems and installations and declaring an emergency. Mr. <br />O'Grady moved to table; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance <br />No. 97-102 was tabled. <br />Ordinance No. 97-123 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Director of Law to retain the services of the law firm of Walter <br />& Haverfield to provide legal services for the preparation of wireless telecommunication <br />facility regulations, and declaring an emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; <br />second by Mrs. Kasler; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 97-1.23 adopted. <br />~~. <br />6 <br />
