Council Minutes of 1/6/98
to the price of the property. Law Director Gareau said it was approximately $40,000 an
acre making the price approximately $360,000. Mayor Musial informed Mr. Bouman that
he planned to put the legislation on hold for further consideration as an appraisal did need
to be done. Mr. Bouman then spoke about the "strategy for recreation" since he feels
there are presently two excess baseball fields in North Olmsted. Also Mr. Bouman is
unhappy that the fields will be placed at the west end of town. He lives on the east end of
town and does not want to drive to Bradley Road for his children's soccer games. Mr.
Bouman suggested the city look at more centrally located developable land at Springvale,
North Olmsted Park, Horizon, and Palm School. Mrs. Saringer suggested that Mr.
Bouman attend a Recreation Commission meeting and present his ideas. Mayor Musial
said that Mr. Bouman's comments were well taken and recreation is an area where he
hoped to do strategic planning. Hopefully, Mr. Bouman will be able to serve on that
committee.
LEGISLATION
Mr. O'Grady moved to reconsider Ordinance No. 97-113; second by Mr. Nashar.
