MINUTES OF THE SPECIA L MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />-r ,~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MONDAY, JULY 5, 1999 <br />Present: Council President Saringei-, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer also <br />serving as Assistant Clerk of Council <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 99-68 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. A resolution <br />authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for acquisition of a <br />dewatering centrifuge for pilot testing at the North Olmsted Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />in the City of North Olmsted as detailed in the specifications on file and authorizing the <br />Mayor to contract for the same, and declaring an emergency. Mr. McKay moved for <br />adoption; second by Mr: Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 99-68 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 99-71 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to enter into an agreement <br />with Polytech Inc. to provide engineering services for the design of sidewalk, drainage <br />and traffic control improvements on Brookpark Road and declaring an emergency. Mr. <br />McKay moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings; second by Mr. Gareau; <br />motion passed unanimously. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Gareau; <br />motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 99-71 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 99-73 introduced by Mr. Miller was given its second reading. A <br />resolution supporting Ohio Senate Bill 142 (S.B. 142), which would provide tougher <br />penalties for assaults upon law enforcement officers, and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 99-74 introduced by Mrs. Kasler was given its second reading. A <br />resolution opposing Amended House Bill 101 (AM. H.B. 101) which would prohibit <br />public authorities from requiring that successful bidders on public improvement projects <br />adhere to project labor agreements negotiated by the public authority, and declaring an <br />emergency as amended. Mrs. Kasler moved for suspension of the rule requiring three <br />readings; second by Mr. Gareau; motion passed unanimously.
