Council Minutes of Jw~e 15, 1999 <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />~~ <br />,, President Saringer made the following committee assignments: 99-67, 99-71, 99-75 to <br />Streets & Drainage; 99-73 to Safety; 99-74, 99-78, 99-80 to Legislative; 99-77, 99-79, <br />99-82, 99-83 to BZD; 99-81 to Finance. <br />President Saringer pointed out to Councilman Gareau that similar lighting ordinances to <br />what he had introduced had been before Council previously and were held in committee <br />for years. Upon the advice of the Building Department, Council did not pass the <br />legislation. Mr. Gareau said he was aware of the previous legislation, but he feels that it <br />should be reconsidered. <br />Mr. Nashar excused tine absence of Councilman McKay. The motion was seconded by <br />Mr. O'Grady and unanimously approved. <br />Mr. O'Grady scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Thursday, June 17, at <br />6:30 p.m. to discuss Ordinance 99-81. The Finance Director is asked to attend. (There <br />was a lengthy discussion as to when the Finance Committee meeting should be held to <br />allow Council members time to visit the other day care centers in the city. It was <br />determined that the only date available would be Thursday, June 17. As many Council <br />members as possible will visit the other day care centers before Thursday.) <br />Mr. Limpert scheduled a Legislative Committee meeting for June 17 after the Finance <br />Committee. The Mavur or his representative is asked to attend. <br />Mr. Gareau scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for Monday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. <br />Representatives from Building and Engineering are asked to attend. <br />Mr. Nashar scheduled a Safety Committee meeting for Monday, June 21, after the BZD <br />Committee to discuss ~~9-73. The Safety Director is asked to attend. <br />Mr. Gareau noted that the VFW will be collecting old flags during the Fourth of July and <br />will dispose of them in the proper manner. <br />Mr. Miller congratulated Mrs. Saringer and her son Patrolman Saringer and his wife on <br />the birth of their first child. <br />With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before <br />Council, President Saringer adjourned the meeting at 10 p.m. <br />/ J ,/ <br />arbara L.
