Council Minutes of 5/18/99 <br />Ordinance No. 99-62 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />,,~, ordinance creating new Chapter 1507 of the City Taxation Code, entitled "Admissions <br />Tax," in order to provide for the levying of a city tax upon admissions fees to <br />entertainment events, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 99-63 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay. An <br />ordinance creating new Section 911.20 of Chapter 911 of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of North Olmsted, entitled "Sewers Generally," in order to provide for a method of <br />collecting delinquent sewer charges, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 99-64 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />ordinance creating new Section 143.02 of Chapter 143 of the Administrative Code of the <br />City of North Olmsted, entitled "Boards and Commissions Generally," in order to clarify <br />the duties of the position of Assistant Clerk of Commissions, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />President Saringer assigned Ordinance 99-62 to Finance Committee, 99-63 to Streets & <br />Drainage, 99-64 to the Legislative, Long-Range Planning Committee. <br />Mr. McKay reported that he had attended a meeting on May 13 in regard to the Cleveland <br />Hopkins Airport expansion: The noise contours have shrunk from the original size. That <br />is due to the fact that airplanes under FAA rulings are not as loud as they previously <br />were. There is a possibility that the contour could be expanded to include again the <br />people that were originally encompassed. However, that has not yet been firmed up. <br />Also discussed was a method of administering sound proofing, which will begin with the <br />people most affected being the first to get their houses soundproofed. There will be a <br />meeting held in the near future to receive input from the public, and he will notify the <br />media and the Clerk of the date as soon as it is available. <br />President Saringer announced: Council will take vacation the month of July; All Scouts <br />Weekend is this weekend. <br />Mr. Gareau scheduled a Building, Zoning and Development Committee meeting for <br />Monday, May 24, at 6:30 p.m. Representatives from the Building Department and the <br />Engineering Department are asked to attend. The agenda will include several Planning <br />Commission items. At Mr. Miller's suggestion, the BZD Committee meeting will be held <br />at Old Town Hall. <br />Mr. Limpert scheduled an Intra-Governmental, Long-Range Planning Committee for <br />Tuesday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. Agenda items include an interview for appointment to <br />Human Resources Advisory Board and Ordinance 99-64. <br />Mr. O'Grady scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Tuesday, May 25, at 6 p.m. to <br />~~~ discuss Ordinance 99-62.
