Council Minutes of 4/b/99 <br />Resolution No. 99-46 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial on <br />behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution declaring the week of April 4, <br />1999 International Building Safety Week. Mr. Gareau moved for suspension of the rules <br />requiring three readings and committee review; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed <br />unanimously. Mayor Musial commented that this resolution is designed to create public <br />awareness as to the importance of construction and building codes and, specifically, to <br />spotlight the role of our Building Department in administering these codes and <br />regulations for the City of North Olmsted. Mr. Gareau moved for adoption; second by <br />Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 99-46 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 99-47 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady. A <br />resolution to petition the House Ways and Means Committee of the State General <br />Assembly to ask for its affirmative vote in support of Homestead Exemption reform as <br />embodied in HB 56. <br />Resolution No. 99-48 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay. A <br />resolution requesting the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to extend Great <br />Northern Boulevard north to Columbia Road at the Westlake city line to four lanes. <br />(Mrs. Saringer noted she was glad that Mr. McKay had taken her suggestion on this <br />issue.) <br />Ordinance No. 99-49 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />ordinance amending Ordinance No. 98-141 so as to combine and establish various <br />positions, and to establish pay ranges and fringe benefits for employees at North <br />Olmsted's Golf Course, and declaring an emergency. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Mrs. Saringer made the following committee assignments: <br />• Resolutions 99-41, 99-43 and 99-48 to the Streets & Drainage Committee <br />• Ordinances 99-44, 99-45 to the Finance Committee <br />• Resolution 99-47 to Legislative Committee <br />• Ordinance 99-49 to the Recreation and Finance Committees <br />Mr. Limpert scheduled an Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long-Range <br />Planning Committee meeting for Apri120 at 7 p.m. <br />Mr. O'Grady scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for 6 p.m. on April 13 to discuss <br />Ordinances 99-44 and 99-45 and 99-49 with the Recreation Committee and to revisit <br />Ordinance 99-18. The Finance Director and the Service Director are asked to attend. <br />Mr. McKay scheduled a Streets & Drainage Committee meeting for April 13 <br />immediately following the Finance Committee meeting to discuss Resolutions 99-41, <br />99-43 and 99-48.
