A <br />Council Minutes of 11/8/2000 <br />Ordinance No. 2000-154 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Gareau. An ordinance amending Sections 505.04, entitled "Abandoning Animals" <br />505.06, entitled "Poisoning Animals," and 505.07, entitled "Cruelty to Animals" of the <br />General Offenses Code, so as to make violations of each said Section of the General <br />Offenses Code first degee misdemeanor offenses, and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 2000-155 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />McKay. A resolution urging Congess to defeat a bill which would take zoning authority <br />away from municipalities and give it to the federal government. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />President Saringer made the following committee assignments: Resolutions 2000-147, <br />2000-148, 2000-149 and Ordinance 2000-150 to Finance Committee; Ordinance <br />2000-151 to Streets and Drainage Committee; Ordinance 2000-154 to Safety Committee; <br />Resolution 2000-155 to Legislative Committee. <br />Councilman O'Grady scheduled a Public Safety Committee meeting for Tuesday, <br />November 14, at 6 p.m. to discuss a liquor transfer, Ordinance 2000-154 and Ordinance <br />97-66. The Animal Warden and the Director of Law are invited to attend. <br />Councilman McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting immediately following <br />Streets and Drainage Committee meeting, which will follow the Public Safety Committee <br />meeting on Tuesday, November 14. The committee will discuss Resolutions 2000-147, <br />2000-148, 2000-149 and Ordinance 2000-150. The Service Director and Finance <br />Director are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Gareau scheduled a Streets & Drainage Committee meeting in between Mr. <br />O'Grady's meeting and Mr. McKay's meeting. The committee will discuss Ordinance <br />2000-151, and Service Director Bohlmann is asked to attend. <br />Councilman McKay moved that Council adjourn into executive session to discuss the <br />acquisition of land. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and unanimously <br />passed. <br />Council adjourned into executive session at 9:45 p.m. and reconvened at 10:25 p.m. <br />Councilman Limpert made a motion to excuse the absence of Councilwoman Kasler. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman O'Grady and unanimously passed. <br />With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before <br />Council, President Saringer ~,ljourned the meeting at 10:26 p.m. <br />~! <br />~ ~''` <br />"Barbara L.
