Council Minutes of 10/17/2000 <br />south side of the driveway to the point of the southerly property across the street so <br />that the view of the people who live across the street on Dewey will be mounding. 3) <br />All mounds are to be measured from the showroom floor giving it equal height in the <br />perimeter of the parking lot. 4) The mounding will be recommended by the City <br />Forester. 5) Two dumpsters will be enclosed in that area with a six foot board-on- <br />board fence. 6) There is no problem with the current sign. 7) No loudspeakers will <br />be allowed on the property. 8) The Dewey entrance will have a gate that will be <br />closed when the store is not open. 9) To prevent thefts, a change was recommended <br />to the design of the front off of Lorain Road so that it will be difficult for anyone to <br />go in after hours to try to remove cars. 10) The color on the main roof will be a <br />natural color, either a brown or a tan. The color will also match the trim on the doors <br />in the other two buildings to be renovated. 11) The parking lot will have four light <br />poles of 15 foot on a 2-foot base, and five poles that are 10 foot on a 2-foot base. The <br />committee requested an accurate photometric study of the light so that the light is not <br />protruding onto the residential area. 12) The committee also recommended a use <br />variance instead of rezoning that property. A public hearing on the rezoning issue <br />will be held on October 30. <br />• Donut Connection, located at 29603 Lorain Road at the corner of Christman Drive. <br />Representing Donut Connection was Cindy Shalala and Rusty Jack. The proposal is <br />for a donut shop with adrive-up window on the west side of the building. There will <br />not be any additional lighting required and no outside loudspeakers. Inside the store, <br />there will be a six-seat counter and three booths that will hold four people. The <br />present ground sign will be moved west about 25 feet with new signage on it. After <br />discussion, the committee unanimously recommended approval of the Donut <br />Connection, located at 29603 Lorain Road, subject to the recommendations of the <br />various boards and commissions. Mr. Nashar moved that Council approve the <br />proposal of the Donut Connection, 29603 Lorain Road, subject to the <br />recommendations of the committee and all boards and commissions, The motion was <br />seconded by Mr. Gareau and unanimously approved. <br />• Ordinances 99-108, 99-83, 99-113, and 2000-81 will be held in committee for review. <br />Public hearings will be held on October 30 for 99-83, 99-113 and 2000-81. On <br />November 2, the BZD Committee will meet again and schedule a review of all these <br />ordinances. <br />Councilman Gareau asked Mr. Nashar if the proposal for the construction of a building to <br />house an indoor pool at the Econo Lodge could also be scheduled for the November 2 <br />BZD Committee meeting as they would like to get started on that before the weather gets <br />bad. Mr. Nashar agreed to place the Econo Lodge proposal on the agenda. <br />Mr. McKay, chairperson of the Finance Committee: 1) The committee met on Monday, <br />October 9, to discuss Ordinances 2000-125, 2000-126, 2000-127, 2000-128, and <br />2000-129. Present were committee members O'Grady, Limpert, McKay; Council <br />members Gareau, Nashar, Miller and Kasler; President of Council Saringer; Mayor <br />Musial, Assistant Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer and Safety Director <br />Jenkins. The committee discussed the pay raise ordinances for the Ward Councilmen, <br />Mayor, President of Council, Law Director and Finance Director and compared the rate <br />5 <br />
