Council Minutes of 5/16/2000 <br />Ordinance No. 2000-61 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />ordinance creating a reserve balance account in the General Fund for the purpose of <br />budget stabilization and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-62 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2000. <br />Resolution No. 2000-63 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial on <br />behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution commending the North Olmsted <br />High School Marching Band on their placement of First Place in the St. Patrick's Day <br />Parade in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rules requiring <br />three readings and committee review; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed <br />unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed <br />unanimously. Resolution No. 2000-63 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2000-64 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial on <br />behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution commending the North Olmsted <br />High School Marching Band on their placement of Fifth in the Cherry Blossom Festival <br />Parade in Washington, D. C. Mrs. Kasler moved for suspension of the rules requiring <br />three readings and committee review; second by Mr. Miller; motion passed unanimously. <br />Mrs. Kasler moved for adoption; second by Mr. Miller. Roll call: Kasler, yes; Miller, <br />yes; McKay, yes; Gareau, yes; O'Grady, yes; Nashar, yes; Limpert, yes, with comment <br />that this is not an unusual thing for this high school's band. They have a tradition of <br />winning awards going all the way back as far as he can remember and then some as a past <br />member of the band. The tradition started with the excellence of Casey Kriechbaum and <br />then carried on with Bud Malchus and now with John Kepperly. Roll call continued: <br />McKay, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2000-64 adopted. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />President Saringer referred Ordinances 2000-51, 52, 53, 54, 55 to Streets & Drainage <br />Committee; Ordinance 2000-56 to Recreation and Finance Committees; Ordinances <br />2000-57, 58, 61 and 62 to Finance Committee; Ordinance 2000-60 to Environmental <br />Control Committee. <br />Mr. McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Wednesday, May 31, at <br />6:45 p.m. to discuss all the above legislation plus Ordinance 2000-32. The Mayor, <br />Finance Director and Bradley Road residents are invited to attend. <br />Mr. Gareau scheduled a Streets & Drainage Committee meeting for 6:30 p.m. on May 31 <br />to discuss the above legislation. Service Director Bohlmann is invited to attend and an <br />Engineering Department representative if Mr. Bohlmann deems it necessary. <br />17 <br />
