Council Minutes of 4/18/2000 <br />* , forms of Discrimination Against Women. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the <br />;, rules requiring three readings and committee review; second by Mr. Nashar; motion <br />passed unanimously. Mrs. Kasler moved for adoption; second by Mr. O'Grady. Roil <br />call: Kasler, yes; O'Grady, yes; Miller, yes; McKay, yes; Gareau, yes; Limpert, yes, with <br />a short comment: "I believe all of us on Council are against discrimination against any <br />group by such criterion as race, religion, creed or gender. However, we on Council have <br />not read the body of this bill known as CEDAW. It is my hope the body of this bill lives <br />up to the high ideals that the title promises, and I request these comments be forwarded <br />along with those to the various people that are mentioned in Section 3. Thank you." <br />Roll call continued: Nashar, yes. Motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2000-36 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-37 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady on <br />behalf of Mayor Musial. An ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance <br />Number 94-148, establishing non-resident fees and charges for the rendering of <br />emergency medical service and ambulance transportation by the City of North Olmsted, <br />and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-38 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. McKay on <br />behalf of Mayor Musial. An ordinance authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City of <br />North Olmsted to enter into an agreement with Great Lakes Billing Associates, Inc., to <br />provide billing and collection services for the non-resident charges for rendering <br />emergency medical services and ambulance transportation by the City of North Olmsted, <br />and declaring an emergency. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Mrs. Kasler scheduled a Legislative Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on Monday, April 24, <br />to discuss Ordinance 2000-24 and Resolution 2000-25. Mayor Musial is asked to attend. <br />Mrs. Kasler scheduled a Legislative Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on May 15 to discuss <br />Ordinance 99-54, the PLA ordinance. <br />Mr. Nashar scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on May 1 to discuss <br />Ordinance 2000-12. <br />Mr. Gareau scheduled a Streets & Drainage Committee meeting for 6:45 p.m. on April 24 <br />to discuss Ordinance 2000-18. The City Engineer is asked to attend. <br />Mr. McKay scheduled and Finance Committee meeting for 6 p.m. on April 25 to discuss <br />Ordinances 2000-33 and 2000-34. P & A Director Popa, Mayor Musial, Service Director <br />Bohlmann and Finance Director Copfer are asked to attend. <br />15 <br />I <br />
