~, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL "~~,- OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 21, 2000 Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler (Present until 8:45 p.m.), Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mr. McKay made a motion to amend the agenda to add Ordinance 2000-30. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nashar. Ordinance 2000-30 authorizes the Director of Law to retain the services of Hilary Taylor to represent the city in the case of North Olmsted Chamber of Commerce vs. the City of North Olmsted. The motion was unanimously passed. Mr. Limpert moved to adjourn into executive session to discuss land acquisition and litigation. The motion was seconded by Mr. Miller and unanimously passed. Council adjourned into executive session at 8:05 p.m. Council reconvened at 8:30 p.m. President Saringer announced that a special Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, for passage of the appropriations legislation, Ordinance 2000-27. A Finance Committee report will be given before passage. Also, a public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on April 17 with regard to the sign code, Ordinance 2000-12. The minutes of the Council meeting of February 1, 2000 were approved as written. The minutes of the special Council meeting of February 3, 2000 were approved as written. REPORTS Mayor Musial: 1) He attended the monthly meeting of the Council of Governments (COG) and the mayors voted to request the police chiefs of the member cities to look into the possibility of having a firing range to be built in a central area so as to provide for an up-to-date facility at a cost which would be less than any one city could do by itself. Hopefully, a report will be received in a couple of months.
