~, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />"~~,- OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 21, 2000 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler (Present <br />until 8:45 p.m.), Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Mr. McKay made a motion to amend the agenda to add Ordinance 2000-30. The motion <br />was seconded by Mr. Nashar. Ordinance 2000-30 authorizes the Director of Law to <br />retain the services of Hilary Taylor to represent the city in the case of North Olmsted <br />Chamber of Commerce vs. the City of North Olmsted. The motion was unanimously <br />passed. <br />Mr. Limpert moved to adjourn into executive session to discuss land acquisition and <br />litigation. The motion was seconded by Mr. Miller and unanimously passed. <br />Council adjourned into executive session at 8:05 p.m. <br />Council reconvened at 8:30 p.m. <br />President Saringer announced that a special Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on <br />Wednesday, March 29, for passage of the appropriations legislation, Ordinance 2000-27. <br />A Finance Committee report will be given before passage. Also, a public hearing will be <br />held at 7 p.m. on April 17 with regard to the sign code, Ordinance 2000-12. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of February 1, 2000 were approved as written. The <br />minutes of the special Council meeting of February 3, 2000 were approved as written. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) He attended the monthly meeting of the Council of Governments <br />(COG) and the mayors voted to request the police chiefs of the member cities to look into <br />the possibility of having a firing range to be built in a central area so as to provide for an <br />up-to-date facility at a cost which would be less than any one city could do by itself. <br />Hopefully, a report will be received in a couple of months. <br />
