Council Minutes of 3/21/2000 <br />Resolution No. 2000-25 introduced by Mrs. Kasler was given its second reading. A <br />resolution urging the North Olmsted School Board to take any and all action necessary to <br />seek an adjustment of the North Olmsted School District's boundaries so as to include <br />within the district that portion of the Cinnamon Woods development recently annexed to <br />the City of North Olmsted, but still located within the boundaries of the Olmsted Falls <br />School District, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-27 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City <br />of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2000 as amended. <br />Resolution No. 2000-28 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for furnishing <br />of storm sewer pipe and accessories for various drainage channel improvements in the <br />City of North Olmsted as per specifications now on file in his office, and authorizing the <br />Mayor to contract for same, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Gareau moved for <br />suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Mr. Gareau moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2000-28 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-29 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />ordinance amending Ordinance No. 98-140, which established a fee structure for <br />participants in the city's Community Diversion Program, in order to reflect changes in the <br />city's current agreement with Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady <br />moved for adoption; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. <br />2000-29 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-30 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. Gareau. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Director of Law to retain the services of Hilary S. Taylor of the <br />law firm of Weston Hurd Fallon Paisley and Howley LLP to represent the City of North <br />Olmsted in the case of North Olmsted Chamber of Commerce vs. City of North Olmsted, <br />United States District Court Northern District of Ohio, eastern division Case No. <br />198CV0810 and declaring an emergency. Mr. Gareau moved to suspend the rules <br />requiring three reading and committee review; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed <br />unanimously. Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane, asked what the total bill was that the <br />city allegedly owes. Law Director Gareau said that there was only a claim, and the <br />amount of the claim was currently $200,000. Mr. Lambert felt retaining an attorney for <br />the city would just add to the costs. Mr. Gareau moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2000-30 adopted. <br />10 <br />
