Council Minutes of 2/15/2000 <br />chairperson can choose a topic for committee discussion. Law Director Gazeau noted <br />` that there would be nothing at all stopping any Councilperson who heads a committee of <br />Yom" looking at issues regarding future rules, regulations, ordinances, modifications of certain <br />polices or rules with City Council that need to be discussed or aired out. The Legislative <br />Committee meeting will be held as scheduled as there was no vote taken on Mr. <br />Limpert's motion due to the lack of a second.) <br />Mr. Gareau, chairperson of the Streets & Drainage Committee: 1) The committee met <br />on Wednesday, January 26, at 7 p.m. Present were all members of Council, Council <br />President Janet Saringer, Mayor Norman Musial, Director of Law Michael Gareau, <br />Director of Finance Carrie Copfer, Service Director Ralph Bohlmann. The agenda item <br />was a review of Ordinance 2000-7, "An ordinance accepting a storm sewer easement <br />located on property owned by the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company and <br />designated as Permanent Parcel No. 234-09-007 and 234-09-008 on the Cuyahoga <br />County maps and records, said easement shown on Exhibit A and described in Exhibit B <br />and declaring an emergency." Service Director Bohlmann explained the ordinance, and <br />that it in fact accepts an easement allowing the City of North Olmsted to install at its cost <br />a drain pipe on CEI property. The future project will alleviate rear yard flooding on <br />Wedgewood as well as alleviate some rear yard flooding for properties located on the <br />south side of Lorain Road in the vicinity of the CEI tower and property. The committee <br />unanimously recommended approval of Ordinance 2000-7. <br />Mr. Nashar, chairperson of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee: 1) On <br />February 8, the committee met to discuss two pieces of legislation and five items referred <br />by the Planning Commission. Present were committee members Gareau, O'Grady and <br />Nashar; Council members Miller, Limpert, Kasler, McKay; President of Council <br />Saringer; Assistant Law Director Dubelko; City Engineer Deichmann and Assistant <br />Building Department Commissioner Rymarczyk; approximately 24 residents from Porter <br />Road and Decker Road. Agenda items were as follows: <br />• Ordinance 2000-12, "An ordinance creating a new and revised Chapter 1163 of the <br />Zoning Code for the City of North Olmsted entitled Signs," which is on second <br />reading tonight. The BZD Committee made a recommendation to have this ordinance <br />brought before the Planning Commission for review and then back to the BZD. <br />• Ordinance 2000-13, "An ordinance providing for the amendment of the zoning map <br />of the City of North Olmsted in order to supplementally zone the hereinafter <br />described parcels of real property so as to include them within the Wireless <br />Telecommunication Facilities Overlay District for the City of North Olmsted." The <br />committee made a recommendation to delete two parcels off the zoning map (262-07- <br />001 and 262-08-001) and refer this ordinance to the Planning Commission for their <br />review and back to the BZD Committee. <br />• North Olmsted United Methodist Church, 4600 Dover Center Road. Representing the <br />United Methodist Church was Mr. Bill Doty from Doty and Miller Architects. The <br />proposal is to construct a 2,560 square foot addition to the rear of the existing <br />building. The church will be using matching materials, cedar siding with natural <br />stain. Also, the roofing shingles will be black asphalt and new windows will be <br />4 <br /> <br />
