Council Minutes of 2/15/2000 <br />installed. They will use matching material and brick. One of the lights in the parking <br />~, lot will be moved approximately 15 feet north for the new addition. No additional <br />trees will be removed. This will also form a natural barrier from their parking lot. <br />After discussion, the committee unanimously recommended approval for United <br />Methodist Church proposal subject to the recommendations of the various boards and <br />committees of the city. Late this afternoon, the Clerk received a revised plan for the <br />landscaping design which will be reviewed by the ARB and subject to that it will be <br />approved. Mr. Nashar moved that Council approve the proposal of the North <br />Olmsted Methodist Church subject to the approvals, requirements and <br />recommendations of the committee and city boards and commissions. The motion <br />was seconded by Mr. Gareau and unanimously approved. <br />• Columbia Road Baptist Church, 4116 Columbia Road, proposal to construct an <br />addition to the fellowship hall to the existing church. Representing Columbia Road <br />Baptist Church was Pastor Allen Jenkins. The proposal calls fora 4,600 square foot <br />fellowship hall, classrooms and meeting area. Mr. Jenkins noted that the construction <br />will be of wood frame and matching white brick masonry to match the existing <br />building. The roofing shingles will also match the existing shingles. No additional <br />parking spaces are needed. The committee recommended approval for the Columbia <br />Road Baptist Church located at 4116 Columbia Road subject to all the <br />recommendations and requirements of the boards and commission. Mr. Nashar <br />moved that Council approve the proposal of the Columbia Road Baptist Church <br />subject to all of the recommendations, requirements and approvals of the committee <br />and the city boards and commissions. The motion was seconded by Mr. Gareau and <br />unanimously approved. <br />• Dick's Sporting Goods and Cort Furniture, located at the former Giant Eagle store at <br />4700 Great Northern Boulevard. Representing Dick's and Cort Furniture was Mr. <br />Steve Schill, from Schill Architects. Mr. Schill said the front of the facade will be <br />remodeled on the existing frontage by removing everything up to Hollywood Video <br />and replacing it with split face block pillars and accent banding on each of the <br />entrances. The north covered walkway will be removed and Spandrel glass, which is <br />the frosted glass, will be installed. There will be lights placed on the new front facade <br />shining in a downward motion. The accent colors of the split block will be Hickory <br />and the field colors will be a Buff Rock. The alternating colors of the light and dark <br />brick are going to match what they presently have now at Michael's store. The <br />coping on the building will be green to match the existing green throughout the <br />center. The parking lot lights will remain the same. The white letters on the building <br />are going to match Michael's. Mr. Schill said the landscaping beds and island would <br />be included. After discussion, the committee unanimously recommended approval <br />for Dick's Sporting Goods and Cort Furniture subject to all the recommendations and <br />requirements of the boards and commissions and committee. Mr. Nashar made a <br />motion that Council approve the plans for Dick's Sporting Goods and Cort Furniture <br />subject to all approvals, recommendations and requirements of the committee and city <br />boards and commissions. The motion was seconded by Mr. O'Grady and <br />unanimously passed. <br />• Halleen Chevrolet, 26932 Lorain Road. Representing Halleen Chevrolet was Mr. <br />Mark Halleen. Mr. Halleen presented to the BZD Committee a proposal to put up a <br />5 <br />
