The motion was seconded by Mr. O'Grady and passed unanimously.
President Saringer announced that the following legislation would be passed under
suspension of the rules: Resolutions 2001-125, 2001-134, 2001-139, 2001-143 and
Ordinances 2001-137, 2001-142.
The minutes of the Council meeting of October 16, 2001 were approved as written. She invited the
United Prescription Service, a mail order prescription firm in Canada, to give
presentations on a proposal which is open to anyone, regardless of age, who feels that
they can get a better price through this method than what can be secured here in the
United States. The unique aspect about this particular service is that one does not have to
go to Canada to receive the prescription drugs. A United States physician would prepare
the prescription, it would be faxed or mailed to the United Prescription Service, and a
Canadian doctor would review that prescription and write a Canadian prescription and
then would provide the drug to the United States resident via the mail service. The only
product that they can't ship would be narcotics and some controlled drugs. The company
will provide a quote on the prescription prior to filling it. Some of these discounts are
quite substantial, going as high as 46% from the U. S. cost. Mrs. Telegdy will get more
details and prepare a report for distribution.
2) The senior cftizen steering committee which was formed to study a proposed new
'""'` North Olmsted multi-purpose senior center has met. They are preparing a presentation
+F4+.. .. x.. -....
a
