Council Minutes of 11/20/2001 <br />traffic signs and signalization, street lighting and related underground wiring, together <br />with the necessary appurtenances and work incidental thereto. <br />Ordinance No. 2001-146 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial on <br />behalf of himself and the entire Council. An ordinance creating new Section 161.08 of <br />the Administrative Code, entitled "Military Leave Benefits," in order to provide <br />permanent city employees called up to military duty pursuant to executive order of the <br />President or act of Congress with greater benefits than that which is provided pursuant to <br />Section 5923.05 of the Ohio Revised Code, and declaring an emergency. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />President Saringer assigned Ordinances 2001-145 and 2001-146 to the Finance <br />Committee. <br />Councilman McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, <br />November 29. Service Director Bohlmann and Finance Director Copfer are asked to <br />attend. <br />President Saringer made the following announcements: <br />• Resumes will be accepted for the position of Council Member at barge for interested <br />residents in anticipation of the resignation of Councilman Thomas O'Grady who will <br />become Council President January 1, 2002. Resumes will be accepted until <br />December 14, 2001. Please submit resumes to the North Olmsted City Council office <br />to the attention of Council Presidenrt Janet Saringer, 5200 Dover Center Road, North <br />Olmsted. Applicants will be contacted regarding interviews. <br />• Due to the special election in Ward 3 on Tuesday, December 4, the Council meeting <br />will be held on Monday, December 3, at 8 o'clock. <br />Councilman Dailey commented regarding the Council-as-a-Whole meeting held on <br />November 14 that, while he did find the mceting informative, he did not hear anything <br />that night that would have lead him to advise the administration of anything at this point. <br />He agrees with Mr. O'Grady with not wanting to have had his name on the letter, but <br />does not recall any conversation advising that Council was going to take any such action <br />either. President Saringer said a decision was made that, in order to follow up with the <br />meeting, Council was going to send a memo to the Mayor asking for some action. That <br />was the purpose of the meeting, to get things started. Councilwoman Kasler said she <br />specifically requested personally that Council follow up with a recommendation to the <br />administration that they consider the issue, and she asked for any objections to that <br />question. <br />Councilman Miller said, in light of the concerns presented earlier this evening by Mr. <br />Jenkins, he thinks Council has an obligation to ask the question again as to the finances <br />and the ability to repay at Springvale. Therefore, he is calling a Recreation Committee to <br />discuss that issue and other issues at 6 o'clock on Thursday, November 29. Finance <br />10 <br />I it <br />
