MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2001 Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at S p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. President Saringer said she wished to congratulate all the victors in yesterday's election. There is no shame in losing, but there is if you don't try. All the candidates fought a hard campaign. Now we must accept the voters' decision and get back to the business at hand and work together for the residents of our city. President Saringer announced that Resolutions 2001-141 and 2001-144 would be passed under suspension of the n~les. The minutes of the special Council meeting of September 30, 2001 were approved as written. The minutes of the Council meeting of October 2, 2001 were approved as written. ~tEPORTS Mayor Musial said he had no official report, but he wanted to ditto President of Council Saringer's commerns in toto. She has captured the essence of the election, and the essence of the members of Council coming together one with the administration working together for the benefit of the goodwill and also for the best interests of the City of North Olmsted. He commends her for those remarks. President Saringer thanked the Mayor. Law Director Gareau: 1) Presidern Saringer announced that Ordinance 2001-144 would be passed under suspension of the rule, and he would like to have an executive session relative to the settlement of that lawsuit. As everyone will recall, an action was filed in the Probate Court to appropriate that property because an agreement could not be reached. As of just two days ago, he finally reached an agreement. 2} The administration is meeting tomorrow with the Regional Transit Authority regarding poternial litigation with respect to the RTA Park-n-Ride. He would also like to discuss that issue in executive session.
