<br />,. ~. <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCII, <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 16, 2001 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director/Acting Clerk of <br />Council Copfer <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Council President Beringer announced that the following legislation would be passed <br />under suspension of the rules: Resolution 2001-126 and Ordinance 2001-128. <br />Council President Saringer asked for any additions or corrections to the Council minutes <br />of September 18, 2001. Councilman O'Grady asked that Mr. Miller's comments on page <br />seven be corrected. Mr. Miller had commented that he and Council members Kasler and <br />Dailey were attending the Transportation Committee which was meeting simuhaneously <br />with the BZD Committee and, therefore, were only able to attend the last part of the BZD <br />meeting. Mr. O'Grady noted that the meeting held simultaneously with the <br />Transportation meeting was the Finance meeting rather than BZD. The minutes of <br />September 18, 2001 were approved as corrected. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) Wished to take the opportunity to address a very important aspect of <br />the City of North Olmsted, that being volunteerism. We have a great many boards, <br />commissions and committees in this city that are important to our existence. Volunteer <br />service is an investment in the future that we all must share. He has issued proclamations <br />in recognition of philanthropy and volunteerism and has proclaimed October 27 as "Make <br />A Difference Day" in North Olmsted. All citizens are encouraged to observe this day by <br />connecting with friends, fellow employees, relatives and neighbors along with the <br />religious, school and civic groups in our community to engage in projects benefiting our <br />community. We are today what we are because of a lot of other people that have gone <br />before us that have given of their time and their energy to make this area a better place in <br />which to live. The administration of the City of North Olmsted and Council and <br />everyone associated with the operation of the governmerrt is grateful to the volunteer <br />~~~~r., _ .. ,_ <br />,_ <br />i i <br />
