;,,,, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 4, 2001 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashaz, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gazeau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Sazinger called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />President Saringer welcomed everyone back from summer vacation. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of July 17, 2001 were approved as written. <br />The minutes of the special Council meeting of July 24, 2001 were approved as written. <br />The minutes of the special Council meeting of July 30, 2001 were approved as written. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) Introduced Maria de la luz Bazcelata, a Fulbright Foreign Exchange <br />teacher at North Olmsted High School. Maria will be in North Olmsted until January as <br />she has exchanged places with North Olmsted teacher Lynn Sebring who is teaching in <br />Mexico for the same period of time. The Mayor presented a proclamation to Maria <br />recognizing the cultural benefits of the foreign exchange program and designating her as <br />an Honorary Citizen of North Olmsted. Maria expressed her thanks for the warm <br />welcome and said she is very happy to be here. <br />2) He sent out a memorandum to senior citizens as he noted an article in today's Plain <br />Dealer about individuals making trips to Canada to fill drug prescriptions at a lower cost <br />than in the United States. Representative Sherrod Brown started this trend locally about a <br />year ago by using charter buses. Senior Center Administrator Mazlene Telegdy did try to <br />arrange for such a trip, but not enough seniors were interested. He is again asking the <br />seniors if they are interested in such a trip. If enough people aze interested and contact <br />Mrs. Telegdy, she will arrange for the trip. <br />3) The web page for the City of North Olmsted has turned out to be absolutely fantastic <br />and is done in-house by Amy Cornish and Mary Creation. Most recently, they have <br />included the Codified Ordinances so that individuals can research our ordinances more <br />easily. Those using the website aze made aware that there may be revisions, addendums <br />or multiple ordinances concerning the subject matter they aze reseazching. <br />.~ <br />
