Special Council Minutes of 7/30/01 <br />~, Ordinance 2001-90 with suspension of the rule at a special meeting to be held July 30 at <br />6:30 p.m. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 2001-74 introduced by Mayor Musial on behalf of himself and <br />Councilmen Dailey, Limpert and O'Grady was given its third reading. An ordinance <br />providing for the submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted of an <br />amendment to Article IX of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, emitled <br />"Nominations and Elections" in order to provide for non-partisan elections in the City of <br />North Olmsted and declaring an emergency. Councilman Dailey moved for adoption; <br />second by Councilman Limpert. Roll call: Dailey, yes; Limpert, yes; Kasler, yes; <br />McKay, yes; Miller, yes; Nashaz, yes, with a brief comment, that for the past week he has <br />been out walking and talking to the residents in Wazd III. They have asked him to <br />address this issue of non-partisan elections and said that they would like to have the <br />opportunity to vote on this Charter amendment. He spoke to Cazolyn Kasler, <br />Chairperson of the Legislative Committee, and asked her if she wouldn't mind addressing <br />the issue by taking it back into committee to be reviewed and voted on so that the citizens <br />of North Olmsted would have the opportunity to vote on the issue. He would also like to <br />thank Shannon Smith for her efforts in producing the petitions and bringing this about. <br />Roll call continued: O'Grady, yes, with comment that he would like to recognize the <br />people in attendance who have their petitions with them and the so many others that aze <br />out on the streets with their petitions. He salutes the people who led this citizens' <br />rebellion that led to this issue being placed on the ballot they have his thanks. The <br />motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2001-74 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2001-90 introduced by Mayor Musial on behalf of himself and <br />Councilman McKay was given its second reading. An ordinance amending the Traffic <br />Control File of the City of North Olmsted by providing for the installation of signs to <br />permit limited pazking on the west side of Country Club Boulevard for the first 800 feet <br />south of Lorain Road as stated below and declaring an emergency as amended. <br />Councilman McKay made a motion to suspend the rule requiring three readings. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Councilman <br />McKay moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman O'Grady and <br />passed unanimously.
