n~ 1VIIlVUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCII, OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED JTTLY 17, 2001 Present: President of Council Saringer, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady. Also Present: Mayor Musial, Assistant Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance as led by Eagle Scout Christopher Whitney. President Saringer announced that, since Council would be on vacation the month of August, the following legislation would be passed under suspension of the rules: Ordinance Nos. 2001-82, 2001-83, 2001-86, 2001-87, 2001-89; Resolution Nos. 2001-84, 2001-85, 2001-91, 2001-92, 2001-93, 2001-94, 2001-95, 2001-96. The minutes of the Council meeting of July 3, 2001 were approved as written. SPECIAL LEGISLATION Resolution No. 2001-95 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman McKay on behalf of the entire Council and the Mayor. A resolution commending the achievement by Christoper Adam Whitney of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. Councilman McKay moved to suspend the rules requiring three readings and committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and unanimously passed. Councilman McKay moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and unanimously passed. Resolution No. 2001-95 adopted. President Saringer asked Christopher to come forward and she read the resolution in its entirety. Christopher was congratulated by Council members, the administration and the audience. REPORTS Mayor Musial: 1) The July Fourth celebration, bike parade and picnic, was a great success. He would like to thank the Recreation Department employees, Council members and administration members who participated and helped to make the event a success. 2) A swearing-in ceremony for two new fire fighters, David Stein and Jim Penner, will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 23.
