REVISED MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JULY 3, 2001 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:04 p.m. in Council Chambers <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the flag. <br />The minutes of Council meeting of June 19, 2001 were approved as written. <br />Councilwoman Kasler made a motion to remove Ordinance 2001-74 from the agenda as a <br />result of the decision of the committee to hold the legislation in committee. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Nashar. Roll call: Kasler, yes; Nashar, yes; Limpert, no; <br />McKay, yes; Miller, yes; O'Grady, no; Dailey, no. The motion passed with four yeas, <br />and three nays. Ordinance 2001-74 will remain in committee. <br />Councilman O'Grady made a motion to bring Ordinance 2001-74 out of committee and <br />bring it to the floor for a vote. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert. After <br />some discussion, the Law Director determined that the motion was not being put forth at <br />the proper time as the legislation had already been removed from the agenda. President <br />Saringer said that Mr. O'Grady could bring the issue up during Miscellaneous Business if <br />he wished to do so. <br />SPECIAL LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 2001-72 introduced by Councilwoman Kasler on behalf of herself, the <br />entire Council and the Mayor was given its third reading and read in its entirety by <br />President Saringer. A resolution commending North Olmsted Patrol Officer Jack Butcher <br />for his actions resulting in the largest cocaine seizure in the history of the North Olmsted <br />Police Department, and declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Kasler moved for <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller. Roll call: Kasler, yes; <br />Miller, yes; McKay, yes; O'Grady, yes with comment, congratulations, Officer Butcher. <br />Roll call continued: Nashar, yes; Dailey, yes; Limpert, yes. The motion passed <br />unanimously. Patrolman Butcher came forward to receive a copy of the Resolution and <br />was congratulated and recognized by Council, the administration and all present. <br /> <br />.,,~..., ,.„,~,.,. _ .~...., p..,.... _.. ....; _ <br />
