.~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JITNE 19, 2001 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Kasler, Limpert, McKay, <br />Miller, Nashaz, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Dailey <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of June 5, 2001 were approved as written. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The Town Hall meeting for Wards II and IV will be held at 7 p.m. on <br />Tuesday, June 26, in the Heritage Room at Springvale. The Town Hall meeting for <br />Wazds I and III will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at Old Town Hall. <br />2) On July 4~', the city will hold its annual bike pazade and picnic in the park. Volunteers <br />aze needed to judge bicycle decorations and to work in the food concessions. Please <br />contact Todd Morgan to volunteer. There will be no political entries in the pazade as <br />those activities are deferred to the Homecoming pazade in August. <br />3) Safety Director Jenkins has prepazed notes to Council rgazding the progress on a <br />traffic light at the intersection of Driscoll, Cottonwood and Dover Center Road. It may <br />be possible that this area will pass warrants and qualify for a traffic light. If soy the <br />administration will come to Council for approval of approximately $50,000 for the traffic <br />light. <br />4) Regarding NOPEC, this is a work in progress. They had first notified customers that <br />they would have to opt-out of the electric deregulation program and opt-in to the gas <br />deregulation program. Also, people who did choose to opt-out of the electric <br />deregulation program could not opt-in to the gas deregulation program. However, that <br />restriction has now been lifted. Customers will be able to become part of the gas <br />deregulation program even if they aze not in the electric deregulation program. <br />President Saringer: 1) The following legislation will be passed under suspension of the <br />rules: Ordinance 2001-75 and Resolutions 2001-76, 2001-80 and 2001-81. <br />,~ . . _ , . •,., a.. <br />._ <br />
