.~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED JITNE 19, 2001 Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashaz, O'Grady Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Absent: Council Member Dailey Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The minutes of the Council meeting of June 5, 2001 were approved as written. REPORTS Mayor Musial: 1) The Town Hall meeting for Wards II and IV will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, in the Heritage Room at Springvale. The Town Hall meeting for Wazds I and III will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at Old Town Hall. 2) On July 4~', the city will hold its annual bike pazade and picnic in the park. Volunteers aze needed to judge bicycle decorations and to work in the food concessions. Please contact Todd Morgan to volunteer. There will be no political entries in the pazade as those activities are deferred to the Homecoming pazade in August. 3) Safety Director Jenkins has prepazed notes to Council rgazding the progress on a traffic light at the intersection of Driscoll, Cottonwood and Dover Center Road. It may be possible that this area will pass warrants and qualify for a traffic light. If soy the administration will come to Council for approval of approximately $50,000 for the traffic light. 4) Regarding NOPEC, this is a work in progress. They had first notified customers that they would have to opt-out of the electric deregulation program and opt-in to the gas deregulation program. Also, people who did choose to opt-out of the electric deregulation program could not opt-in to the gas deregulation program. However, that restriction has now been lifted. Customers will be able to become part of the gas deregulation program even if they aze not in the electric deregulation program. President Saringer: 1) The following legislation will be passed under suspension of the rules: Ordinance 2001-75 and Resolutions 2001-76, 2001-80 and 2001-81. ,~ . . _ , . •,., a.. ._
