Council Minutes of 5/1/2001 <br />.-~ MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />~* President Beringer made the following committee assignments: Ordinance 2001-01, <br />Finance; Ordinance 2001-62, Finance and Environmental; Ordinance 2001-63, Finance <br />and Recreation; Ordinance 2001-64, Finance and Streets & Drainage; Resohion <br />2001-65, Finance and Recreation; Ordinance 2001-66, Finance and Streets & Drainage; <br />Ordinance 2001-67, Finance and Recreation. <br />Councilman Nashar scheduled a BZD meeting for May 9 at 6 p.m. to address Ordinance <br />2000-13 and three Planning Commission items. The Building Commissioner and the <br />City Engineer are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Nashar reported on the following items: <br />With regard to Resolution 2001-32 pertaining to the North Olmsted post office, the <br />postmaster has created 10 additional parking spaces on the east side of the parking <br />lot. That will bring a total of 32 spaces for customer parking. <br />The fourth gun turn-in program will be held on Saturday, May 19, from 8:30 a.m <br />until 1 p.m Residents can turn in empty unwanted guns to the Police Department by <br />wrapping them in newspaper or putting them in a brown paper bag. Individuals not <br />able to come to the Police Department should call the non-emergency number and <br />arrangements will be made to have the gun picked up. Residents who turn in a gun <br />will receive a number of certificates from area merchants: Giant Eagle $10 gift <br />certificate; Great Northern Dodge $29 oil change certificate; aone-year subscription <br />to the Westlife; a certificate for a pizza from Geppetto's. <br />Councilman O'Grady scheduled a Public Safety Committee meeting to discuss Ordinance <br />2001-55 on Monday, May 7, at 6 p.m The Safety Director and the Traffic Engineer are <br />asked to attend. <br />Councilman McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Monday, May 7, at <br />6:30 p.m to discuss Ordinances 2001-01, 2001-62, 2001-63, 2001-64, 2001-66, 2001-67 <br />and Resolution 2001-65. The Finance Director, Service Director and Safety Director are <br />asked to attend. <br />Councilwoman Kesler scheduled an Infra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; <br />Long-Range Planning Committee meeting on Monday, May 7, immediately following the <br />Finance Committee meeting. The committee will discuss how to approach the <br />redistricting issue. The Mayor is asked to attend. <br />President Beringer made the following announcements: <br />• All Scouts Weekend will be held on June 8, 9 and 10. On June 5, the Scouts will <br />hold a mock Council meeting beginning at 6:45 p.m., and they will attend the regular <br />Council meeting that evening. <br />~:; • Council will take its annual vacation the month of August. <br />13 <br />__ <br />
