Council Minutes of 4/3/2001 <br />... additional information would be gathered and, once obtained, another meeting would <br />beheld. <br />The committee met with Rae Spalding, the Mayor's recommendation to the Human <br />Resources Advisory Board for the term of January 1, 2001 through December 31, <br />2005. Mrs. Spalding will replace Linda Pallotta. Mrs. Spalding manages a legal <br />assistance firm and has vohinteered in our community in diverse ways to include co- <br />chairmanship of the Mayor's Vision 200 Committee. The committee unanimously <br />recommended approval of Mrs. Spalding's appointment. Mrs. Kesler moved that <br />Council approve the appointment of Rae Spalding to the Human Resources Advisory <br />Board. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nashaz and unanimously approved. <br />3) Another meeting of the lntra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long-Range <br />Planning Committee was held this evening at 6:30 p.m In attendance were committee <br />members Kesler, Nashar and Miller; Councilmen Limpert, Dailey and O'Grady; <br />President of Council Saringer; Landmarks Commission member Paul Barker. <br />• The committee met with David Lind to discuss the Mayor's recommendation to <br />appoint him to the Landmarks Commission for the term beginning January 1, 2001 to <br />December 31, 2002. Mr. Lind is the former Ward II Councilman who was involved <br />in Planning Commission when the latest Master Plan was considered. His concerns, <br />which he expressed this evening, were to control development in the city and to guard <br />against encroachment onto the historic district. The committee welcomes Mr. Lind <br />and recommended his approval. Mrs. Kesler moved that Council approve the <br />appointment of David Lind to the Landmarks Commission. The motion was <br />seconded by Mr. Nashar and unanimously approved. <br />• The conomittee met with Norman Althea for a position on the Boazd of Building Code <br />Appeals for a term beginning January 1, 2001 and ending December 31, 2005. Mr. <br />Althea grew up in North Olmsted, lived here for many years, left and then recently <br />moved back to our city. Mr. Althea has been a carpenter foreman for Seasons <br />Contractors and the owner of Koda Contractors. Mr. Althea fulfilled the <br />requirements for appointment to this position, and the committee unanimously agreed <br />that he would be an asset to the Board of Building Code Appeals. Mrs. Kesler moved <br />that Council approve the appointment of Norman Althea to the Board of Building <br />Code Appeals. The motion was seconded by Mr. Miller and unanimously approved. <br />• The committee received the Mayor's recommendation for re-appointment of Amy <br />Govoni to the Human Resources Advisory Board for the term from January 1, 2001 <br />to December 31, 2005. Mrs. Kesler moved that Council approve the re-appointment <br />of Amy Govoni to the Human Resources Advisory Board. The motion was seconded <br />by Mr. Nashar and unanimously approved. <br />• The committee received the Mayor's recommendation for re-appointment of Betty <br />Lord to the Landmarks Commission for the term commencing January 1, 2001 and <br />ending December 31, 2002. Mrs. Kesler moved that Council approve the re- <br />appointment of Betty Lord to the Landmarks Commission.
