Council Minutes of 1/16/01 <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />President Saringer announced that Council would vote on which recommendations from <br />the Charter Review Commission would be placed on the ballot: <br />• Article III, Section 5 (a), Mayor Executive Powers. Roll call: Gareau, no; Kasler, no; <br />Limpert, no; McKay, no; Miller, no; Nashar, no; O'Grady, no. Seven nays. <br />• Article IV, Section 1, Council Number and Terms. Roll call: O'Grady, yes; Nashar, <br />no; Miller, no; McKay, no; Limpert, yes; Kasler, no; Gareau, no. Five nays and two <br />yeas. <br />• Article IV, Section 3, President of Council. Roll call: Limpert, yes; Gareau, no; <br />Nashar, no; McKay, no; Kasler, no; O'Grady, yes; Miller, no. Five nays and two <br />yeas. <br />• Article IV, Section 5, Council Vacancies. This <br />recommendation will be placed on the ballot. <br />Councilman O'Grady said farewell to Councilman Gareau and gave him his best wishes. <br />Councilman McKay moved to appoint Carolyn Kasler as President Pro Tem of Council <br />for the year 2001. The motion was seconded by Mr. Miller and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Tuesday, January 23, at <br />6 p.m. to discuss Ordinances 2001-03 and 2001-06. The Service Director and Mayor are <br />asked to attend. <br />President Saringer asked Mayor Musial if he had received any information regarding the <br />census. Mayor Musial replied that some information had been received. However, he <br />did not believe the information was accurate and his office has provided information to <br />the census bureau so that an accurate count can be determined. President Saringer asked <br />that he forward the final count to Council as soon as he receives it as Council does have <br />to act on redistricting. <br />~,, <br />12 <br /> <br />
