This program is made possible by a grant
from the Ohio Department of Aging, through the Western Reserve Area Agency on
Aging. The funding is provided by the Older Americans Act, Title 3C, and will provide a
hot lunch for up to 95 persons on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This program will start in
January 2003 and will be funded for two years. The meals will be served in the main
activity room at the North Olmsted Senior Center, located at 28114 Lorain Road. The
meals will be nutritionally balanced and served at Noon and a donation of 75 cents is
requested. This is a huge step forward in providing meals to senior citizens at a very
reasonable suggested donation. The North Olmsted Division of Aging, administered by
Deborah Bock will be hiring two part-time nutrition aides to assist with this program.
Utilizing the partnership model of the North Olmsted Commission of Paratransit Inc., the
program will provide outreach to older persons residing in North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls
and Olmsted Township. However, all older persons, regardless of residency, are
welcome to participate in the program. Thank you to the Springvale Ballroom and staff
for providing wonderful meals on an emergency basis until we were able to secure
funding from this grant. Congratulations to Deborah Bock on her grant writing skills and
her administration of the North Olmsted Division of Aging Senior Center.
