MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OffiO <br />OCTOBER 1, 2002 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial; Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council Member Kasler <br />President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of August 26, 2002 were approved as written. <br />President O'Grady announced that Resolution 2002-143 and Ordinance 2002-124 would <br />be passed under suspension of the rules. <br />E RTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) On September 19, he participated with the staff of Charter One Bank <br />in cutting the ribbon for the remodeling grand opening. <br />2) On September 21, he represented the city at a neighborhood block party on Willet <br />Circle. The fire fighters were also there with a fire engine and an emergency rescue <br />squad, which really attracted the children. <br />3) On September 23 through September 25, North Olmsted hosted a training session for <br />our fire fighters, involving a full burn of two of the homes on Butternut Ridge Road that <br />- were purchased the new library site. <br />4) On September 24, he and City Engineer Paul Deichmann met with Mayor Rob Berner <br />of Avon Lake to discuss purchase of water from Avon Lake. They were given a tour of <br />the Avon Lake facilities. Avon Lake does have excess water to sell, and we are going to <br />continue to evaluate that situation. <br />5) On September 25, along with Councilmen George Nashar and Dean McKay, Paul <br />Deichmann and a representative from ODOT, he discussed with members of Cinnamon <br />Woods Association the question of sound walls along I-480. It was pointed out that <br />funding is available, if conditions warrant it, to the tune of 50%. The estimated cost of <br />sound wall is about a million dollars a mile, and the city's contribution per mile would be <br />$500,000. <br />6) It gives him great satisfaction to report that no discharges occurred from the sanitary <br />sewer system as a result of the Friday, September 27, storm. There were approximately 3 <br />inches of rain over a period of 6 1/2 to 7 hours at the Dover Lift Station and about 2 1/2 <br />"~ inches of rain at the LeBern Lift Station. Also, no storm drainage flooding occurred as a <br />„_ . e .....,~. b~~~ __ <br />
