~~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />~'~` OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 20, 2002 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />President O'Grady made the following announcements: <br />^ Resolutions 2002-116, 2002-120, 2002-126 and 2002-127 will be passed under <br />suspension of the rules. <br />^ There will be a public hearing for the county tax budget, Ordinance 2002-109, on <br />Monday, August 26, at 7 p.m. <br />^ There will be a special meeting of Council on Monday, August 26, at 7:15 p.m. to <br />discuss and to consider Ordinance 2002-117. <br />RE T5 <br />Mayor Musial: 1) Council and the residents of Pine Ridge are very happy that the traffic <br />light at Dover Center and DriscolUCottonwood Trail is now in operation. The city will <br />begin to trench the east side of Dover Center Road to tie the traffic light into the <br />signalization system. <br />2) NOPEC will be mailing opt-out material to electricity customers who have moved into <br />the NOPEC communities, of which North Olmsted is one. There are approximately <br />75,000 customers who have moved in the last year, with most of them being residential <br />customers. The procedure is the same as previously done. The customers will have 21 <br />days to return the opt-out card if they do not wish to participate in NOPEC's electricity <br />program. The initial savings for residential customers is 3% off the standard utility rate <br />with the discount scheduled to increase to 4% and then to 6% next year. <br />3) His administrative assistant made application for a grant to the Cuyahoga County Solid <br />Waste District 2003 grant process. Ms. Creadon was informed today that they approved <br />the grant in the amount of $4,195 for the purchase of trash containers and park benches to <br />be utilized in the green space park area at the new North Olmsted library project <br />4) Fitch Road, from the North Olmsted south corporation line to Bagley Road and <br />McKenzie Road from the North Olmsted south corporation line to Cook Road will be <br />
