Council Members Limpert and Dailey voted yes on the amendment and <br />Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Miller, McKay and Nashar voted no. The motion to <br />amend failed to pass with two yes votes and five no votes. Councilman Miller moved to <br />suspend the rules requiring three readings and committee review, and the motion was <br />seconded by Councilwoman Kasler. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no <br />vote cast by Councilman Limpert. Councilman Miller moved for adoption, and the <br />motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kasler. (Councilman Dailey commented that, <br />while America has yet to come to grips with how to handle the anniversary of 9/11, he <br />thinks it is premature that a day be designated to anyone. However, he also understands <br />the importance of our safety services, and his vote is yes.) The mofion passed with six <br />yes votes and one no vote cast by Councilman Limpert. Resolution No. 2002-126 was <br />adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2002-127 was introduced. and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial on <br />behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution designating September 2002 as <br />National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in the City of North Olmsted, and <br />declaring an emergency. Councilman Gareau moved for suspension of the rules <br />requiring three readings and committee review. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Resolution <br />No. 2002-127 was adopted. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Councilman McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, <br />August 27, to discuss Resolution No. 2002-109. The Finance Director is asked to attend. <br />Councilwoman Kasler scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting <br />to immediately follow the Finance Committee on Monday, August 27. The committee <br />will discuss Ordinance No. 2002-125 and two liquor permits. The Safety Director and a <br />representative from the Police Department are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Miller scheduled an Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee to follow the Public Safety Committee meeting on Monday, <br />August 27. The committee will discuss Resolution No. 2002-123, and Mr. Miller asked <br />that the sponsor of the ordinance and Mr, Dolance be invited to attend. Also, Mr. Miller <br />asked that the Mayor contact the Law Director with regard to his questions concerning <br />Ordinance 2002-104, the public access legislation, so that this legislation can also be <br />discussed.
