Council Minutes of 5/21/2002 <br />discussion, the committee unanimously recommended approval for OSV Productions <br />subject to the recommendations of the various boards and BZD Committee. <br />Councilman Nashar moved that Council approve the proposal of OSV Productions at <br />29605 Lorain Road subject to the recommendations of the various boards and the <br />BZD Committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed <br />unanimously. <br />Councilman Limpert, chairperson of the Environmental Control Committee: 1) The <br />committee met on May 14. Present were committee members Limpert, Dailey and <br />Gazeau; Council Members Nashar, Miller, McKay and President of Council O'Grady; <br />Law Director Dubelko, Service Director Thomas and Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />Superintendent Nichols. The committee discussed Ordinance 2002-69, an ordinance to <br />do design work for the repair of the roof of the Low Pressure Oxidation Building No. 1 at <br />the Wastewater Treatmenrt Plant. This work is necessary and is beyond the scope of <br />normal roof maintenance. The work will save a significant building, and the committee <br />unanimously recommended approval. <br />Councilwoman Kasler, chairperson of the Public Safety, Health & Welfaze Committee: <br />1) The committee met on May 14. Present were committee members, all other members <br />of Council and the Law Director. Agenda items were as follows: <br />• A liquor permit transfer for the Convenient Mart located on Dover Center Road. This <br />is a name only transfer for an existing C 1, C2 and D6 license from the name Rana <br />Inc. to 4864 Dover Corporation. The Police Department had no objection to this <br />transfer. Councilwoman Kasler made a motion that Council have no objection to the <br />liquor transfer. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed <br />unanimously. <br />• Ordinance 2002-b7 which authorizes the purchase of weapons for the Police <br />Department. This discussion was held over for another committee meeting. <br />2) The committee met this evening, May 21, at 7 p.m. Present were all committee <br />members, several Council members and directors. Agenda items were as follows: <br />• A liquor permit transfer of a DS license from G M E Corporation at Dugan's Pub, <br />29352 Lorain Road to R Molnar Baz Inc., at the same location. The Police <br />Department had no objection to this transfer. In addition, committee member Nashaz <br />spoke with the present owner and was told that they were aware of the purchase and <br />there were no existing problems at that location. There were no objections from the <br />committee. Councilwoman Kasler made a motion that Council have no objection to <br />the liquor permit transfer. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and <br />passed unanimously. <br />• Ordinance 2002-67 which authorizes the purchase of new weapons for the Police <br />Department. This is a complete change of weapons and involves the purchase of 51, <br />40-caliber Beretta semi-automatic pistols and also 13 Cougar models for the <br />Detective Bureau. Sixty-four weapons will be purchased for a total price of $20,406, <br />which includes ammunition and carvers. Also, that price is based on a trade-in of the <br />6 <br />
