Council Minutes of 5/21/2002 discussion, the committee unanimously recommended approval for OSV Productions subject to the recommendations of the various boards and BZD Committee. Councilman Nashar moved that Council approve the proposal of OSV Productions at 29605 Lorain Road subject to the recommendations of the various boards and the BZD Committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Councilman Limpert, chairperson of the Environmental Control Committee: 1) The committee met on May 14. Present were committee members Limpert, Dailey and Gazeau; Council Members Nashar, Miller, McKay and President of Council O'Grady; Law Director Dubelko, Service Director Thomas and Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Nichols. The committee discussed Ordinance 2002-69, an ordinance to do design work for the repair of the roof of the Low Pressure Oxidation Building No. 1 at the Wastewater Treatmenrt Plant. This work is necessary and is beyond the scope of normal roof maintenance. The work will save a significant building, and the committee unanimously recommended approval. Councilwoman Kasler, chairperson of the Public Safety, Health & Welfaze Committee: 1) The committee met on May 14. Present were committee members, all other members of Council and the Law Director. Agenda items were as follows: • A liquor permit transfer for the Convenient Mart located on Dover Center Road. This is a name only transfer for an existing C 1, C2 and D6 license from the name Rana Inc. to 4864 Dover Corporation. The Police Department had no objection to this transfer. Councilwoman Kasler made a motion that Council have no objection to the liquor transfer. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. • Ordinance 2002-b7 which authorizes the purchase of weapons for the Police Department. This discussion was held over for another committee meeting. 2) The committee met this evening, May 21, at 7 p.m. Present were all committee members, several Council members and directors. Agenda items were as follows: • A liquor permit transfer of a DS license from G M E Corporation at Dugan's Pub, 29352 Lorain Road to R Molnar Baz Inc., at the same location. The Police Department had no objection to this transfer. In addition, committee member Nashaz spoke with the present owner and was told that they were aware of the purchase and there were no existing problems at that location. There were no objections from the committee. Councilwoman Kasler made a motion that Council have no objection to the liquor permit transfer. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. • Ordinance 2002-67 which authorizes the purchase of new weapons for the Police Department. This is a complete change of weapons and involves the purchase of 51, 40-caliber Beretta semi-automatic pistols and also 13 Cougar models for the Detective Bureau. Sixty-four weapons will be purchased for a total price of $20,406, which includes ammunition and carvers. Also, that price is based on a trade-in of the 6
